Apple TV app coming to PS4 and PS5

    When Sony’s PS5 game console launches on Nov. 12, it will feature a?newly designed media center that introduces the Apple TV app. That app will also be available on the PS4.
    Sony on Thursday confirmed some of the entertainment apps that’ll be available for its new console on day one, including?Netflix,?Disney Plus?and, now,?Apple TV. Spotify, Twitch, YouTube and Crunchyroll apps will also be available at launch.?

    These apps will live on a dedicated “Media” tab separate from video games, and Sony said you’ll no longer need to download entertainment apps through the PS Store. Sony also showed off a new remote control that’ll work with the PS5 and feature dedicated buttons for Disney Plus, Netflix, Spotify and YouTube.?
    Apps for Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and Peacock are coming too, though it’s unclear from the announcement exactly when they’ll be available. Sony made no mention of HBO Max.
    Apple TV will also likely be arriving on Microsoft’s new Xbox Series X/S at launch, according to a report from?Windows Central.
    Sony and Apple didn’t respond to requests for comment.
